Portals (Hand Dyed and Screen Printed Silk Scarf)

These 100% silk bandanas are all one of a kind. My mother, textile artist Julia Lowe, hand dyed each piece using natural pigments. I rendered the screen print design using five rich shades of pink. The end result is a beautiful, versatile piece of wearable art inspired by our love of Black abstract painters Julie Mehretu and Mildred Thompson.
